Easy Fall/Halloween banner

Hello Everyone !

I am writing this down on a Sunday morning, sipping on a hot cup of tea and enjoying the beautiful sunrise!  Today, I thought I will write down a simple day in the life kind of post where I share a few of the details and thoughts of the day.

I love waking up early in the morning before my toddler wakes up and having some time to sit down to do all the planning for the day. This day we didn’t have any plans to go out but sometimes a day at home needs planning too.The main task on my to-do list was cleaning the entire house and I was determined I would finish it off within a few hours and tackle the rest of my to-do list.Somehow, I ended up not doing it. You know one of those days, you want to do it but just can’t get it done.Well, even though I didn’t finish any tasks from my to-do list, I felt I have done a lot more!! Does that even make sense??!  I moved away all my lists and spent an entire day with my toddler, playing, making crafts, dress up,etc, etc. It definitely gives a lot of pleasure.

So, first we decided that we do this halloween/fall banner out of the things we bought from target the previous week. This is a fun, simple banner idea that you can do with your toddler and looks great too.Perfect for a kid’s room or play room or even to go over the fireplace mantle.

Here is what you will need:

Pumpkin cut outs

Glitter glue

Powder glitters

Elmer school glue

Black Ribbon

Decorative Cloth clips(optional)

The orange pumpkin cutouts I have are from Target dollar spot but you can also make your own cut-outs.I just wanted to make things easier and these cut-outs are cute and also very thick . First, I let my toddler use the colorful glitter glue and used it around the shape of the pumpkin. It was a bit hard for her to use the glitter glue on her own so we did it together and talked about airplanes, school, halloween and a lots of other things.I chose to make one of the cut-outs all glittery to make it sparkle in the bunch. So spread the Elmer school glue all over and sprinkle glitters all over it.You will be surprised on how beautiful it looks and toddlers have so much fun working with glitters!! Let them dry.Once they are dry, take a black ribbon and lay it on the floor.Place your pumpkin cut-outs on it and adjust the spacing as required. Then glue each cut-out on to the ribbon.Let it dry again,it took around three hours for the glue to dry.Place the cloth pins on each of the cut-outs to make it look like they are held onto the ribbon by them. Now the banner is all ready to go on your fireplace mantle or anywhere you want.

After this little craft time,we then cut the lavender we had bought from the Lavender festival (more about it here) and placed them in sachets.I am not sure how I will be using it but for now they are all safely kept in the sachets.

I also opened a few  packages that I received the previous day and I am really excited to try all the products.I have a few products from banyan botanicals, an eco-friendly lunch box from eco-lunch boxes and few new fall pieces for my little one.

Speaking of new clothes, I loved watching my toddler try out the new pieces and how happy she was!!! I am really looking forward for her to start wearing these.I might as well do a post on toddler outfit ideas soon!

There is nothing like cozying up on the couch and reading books. We got a few interesting books from the library this past week and I love to read with my toddler. She is so curious and keeps asking so many questions that  you will be tired of answering all of them but at the end it’s so worth it.We learn, we bond ,we cuddle,we relax, so many good things happening at the same time.

We spent the evening sitting in the balcony enjoying the sunset and the fresh air. We had coffee and then dinner too all outside in our tiny balcony. When we were out there my daughter asked me a question , “Mommy don’t you love the world?” Yes honey, I do, I love this beautiful world! Toddlers are so adorable, not only they are cute their words are so meaningful.

Enjoy the rest of the week!
